Our Water Sources

We are in a unique position in the mountains with our two sources of water!

After the Loma Prieta earthquake, we established a connection at Redwood Mutual Water Company to what is now San Jose Water Company (SJWC). The source of water for this connection is also surface water, but because SJWC has Lake Elsman as a reservoir, the water is available throughout the year.  The water is treated at their Montevina Treatment Plant above Lexington Reservoir.  The Montevina pipeline serves Redwood Estates, the Villa del Monte Water Company, and eight other mutual water companies in both counties of the Santa Cruz mountains.
